LSU Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences is seeking an Research Associate 2 to do fieldwork, oversee chemical analysis, and independently coordinate lab and field instruments or Research Associate 3 to do fieldwork, oversee chemical analysis, and independently coordinate lab and field instruments.
Research Associate 2
Job Responsibilities:
80% Plan, coordinate and participate in field compliance across the state of Louisiana.
20% Process data analysis, write reports, make graphs, order supplies, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences or other science disciplines.
1 year of experience
Specific Experience: Candidates must have experience in lab and field work and be willing to carryout fieldwork for extended period of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Specific Experience:
Experience in analysis of greenhouse gas emissions is preferred, but not required. Preferred candidates should be willing to carry out fieldwork within the state of Louisiana for extended period of time.

Research Associate 3
Job Responsibilities:
70% Independently process field sampling and provide acquisition of field data related to methane and CO2 flux data across the state of Louisiana including offshore regions.
20% Oversee chemical analysis and manage lab and field instruments.
10% Organize, maintain and manage data, write reports and assist in manuscript preparation. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Geology, Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences or other science disciplines.
Degree Substitute: Bachelor's Degree with 2 years related experience
Specific Experience:
Candidates must have experience in lab and field work and be willing to carryout fieldwork for extended periods of time.
