The High-Temperature Geochemistry Group at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is currently recruiting PhD students in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences. These positions offer full support through a combination of research and teaching assistantships. Accepted students will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Shichun Huang (UTK) and Dr. Dan Dunlap (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, ORNL) on projects involving the application of metal stable isotopes, with a focus on Mg, Fe, Ca, and K isotopes, within the Earth and planetary sciences. Research will leverage the advanced Neoma MS/MS MC-ICP-MS and LA-ICP-MS facilities available at both UTK and ORNL.

Some of the funded projects are listed at https://faculty.utk.edu/Shichun.Huang/grants.

Interested applicants should reach out to Dr. Huang at shuang25@utk.edu with a CV, a statement of research interest, and any questions regarding the positions or projects. Applications must be submitted through the UTK graduate admissions portal (https://apply.gradschool.utk.edu/apply/), and further details on the graduate program are available on the department website (https://eeps.utk.edu/graduate-students/).
