The Department of Geology at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for the position of Academic Professional Associate, starting August 1, 2025. This is a 12-month position. The successful candidate will coordinate our new Online MS Program in Environmental Geology, develop, and teach courses throughout the year. This program is tailored for aspiring professionals seeking to work in areas such as natural resource management, water remediation, alternative energy storage, and natural hazard mitigation. Teaching duties, shared with three full-time faculty, will include courses in hydrogeology, aqueous environmental geochemistry, data science, GIS, watershed-scale modeling, and hazardous waste site remediation. A Ph.D. in the geological sciences or a related field is expected at the time of appointment.
