The following Terms and Conditions of Use, govern access to and use of the Careers Center, whether as a guest or a registered user (a “User”). Please read the following carefully because by using this Careers Center you are agreeing to abide by these Terms and Conditions of Use.

Changes:
We may revise these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time by amending this page. We may update our Careers Center from time to time and may change the content at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of such changes via the Careers Center webpages. However, please note that any of the content on our Careers Center may be out of date at any given time and we are under no obligation to update it. We do not guarantee that our Careers Center, or any content on it, will be free from errors or omissions. Continued use of the Careers Center after such changes have been made indicates your agreement to be bound by the new Terms and Conditions.

Copyright:
The entire contents of the Careers Center are protected by copyright. As a User, you have certain rights as specified below; all other rights are reserved.

Rules of Use:
You must not:
a. copy, distribute, transmit or otherwise reproduce sell or resell material from the Careers Center; store such material in any form or medium in a retrieval system; or transmit such material, directly or indirectly for use in any paid service, or for systematic distribution, whether or not to another User and whether or not for commercial or non-profit use or for a fee or free of charge;
b. use the Careers Center in any unlawful manner, for any unlawful purpose, or in any manner inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions of Use, or act fraudulently or maliciously, for example, by hacking into or inserting malicious code, including viruses, or harmful data, into the Careers Center or any operating system;
c. infringe our intellectual property rights or those of any third Party in relation to your use of the Careers Center or any service, (to the extent that such use is not licensed by these Terms and Conditions of Use);
d. transmit any material that is defamatory, offensive or otherwise objectionable in relation to your use of the Careers Center or any Service;
e. not use the Careers Center or any service in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, impair or compromise our systems or security or interfere with other users; and
f. not collect or harvest any information or data from any service or our systems or attempt to decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running any service.

If you fail to abide by these Terms and Conditions of Use or other applicable terms and conditions, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Careers Center immediately without notice, in addition to any other available remedies. You will be responsible for our losses and costs resulting from you breach of this clause.

Accessing our Careers Center:
Our Careers Center is made available free of charge to Users responding to job advertisements. There are charges payable when posting a job advertisement for which separate terms and conditions may apply.

We do not guarantee that our Careers Center, or any content on it, will always be available or that access to the Careers Center will be uninterrupted or error free. Access to our Careers Center is on a temporary basis. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change all or any part of our Careers Center without notice. We will not be liable to you if for any reason our Careers Center is unavailable at any time or for any period.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to our Careers Center. You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our Careers Center through your internet connection are aware of these Terms and Conditions of Use and other applicable terms and conditions and that they comply with them.

Your Account and Password:
If it is necessary to register in order to access the Careers Center, you will have to select and register a user name and password, which you must keep confidential and not disclose to or share with anyone else. If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us.

We have the right to disable any user identification code or password whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with the provisions of these Terms and Conditions of Use.

Third Party Links:
The Careers Center may provide links to third Party websites. Where such links exist, we disclaim all responsibility and liability for the content of such third Party websites. Users assume the sole responsibility for the accessing of third Party websites and the use of any content appearing on such websites.

Limitation of Liability:
This Careers Center and its content is provided on an 'as is' basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose or warranties as to accuracy or completeness;

The use of the Careers Center and any services provided is at the User's own risk. Users should be aware that identifiable personal information, such as name or e-mail address, that is disclosed voluntarily on bulletin boards or in chat areas that are accessible to other Users could be collected and disclosed by others and that no liability is accepted for such collection and disclosure;

No person or legal entity involved in creating, producing or delivering the Careers Center shall be liable and liability is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by the law for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of the User's use of or inability to use the Careers Center or any materials or information in it;

Uploading Content to our Careers Center:
Whenever you make use of any feature (if any) that allows you to upload content to the Careers Center, or to make contact with other users of the Careers Center, you warrant that you will only provide content which is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge and belief, that you comply with the Rules of Use and that you have all necessary rights to make the content freely available. You will be liable to us and indemnify us for any breach of that warranty.

Any content you upload to our Careers Center will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. You will retain all of your ownership rights in your content but in uploading such content you will automatically grant us a non-exclusive royalty free license to use, store and copy the content and to distribute and make it available to third Parties.

We shall also have the right to disclose your identity to any third Party who is claiming that any content posted or uploaded by you to our Careers Center constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or their right to privacy.

We will not be responsible, or liable to any third Party, for the content or accuracy of any content posted by you or any other User of our Careers Center.

We have the right to remove any posting you make on our Careers Center if, in our opinion, your post does not comply with the content standards set out in the Rule of Use.

The views expressed by other Users on our Careers Center do not represent our views or values.

Employers:
We make no representation or warranty in respect of any of the following:
• the existence or availability of any appointment advertised via the Careers Center;
• that any employer or client will ask for your CV, as to interview you or recruit you;
• that any employer or client will keep confidential any of your information or data provided;
• the final terms or duration of any appointment obtained through the Careers Center site.

No Reliance on Information:
The information on the Careers Center is intended as general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. No person or legal entity involved in creating, producing or delivering the Careers Center shall be liable for any loss or damage occasioned to any person or property through using the information contained in the Careers Center, or acting or refraining from acting as a result of such use.

Viruses:
We do not guarantee that our Careers Center will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programs and platform in order to access our Careers Center. You should use your own virus protection software. You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our Careers Center will cease immediately.

If you also purchase goods or services from Wiley or the Society for Conservation Biology, your purchase will be subject to that Party’s Terms and Conditions of Sale.

General:
No waiver. No failure by us in exercising any rights under these Terms of Use shall prejudice or restrict our rights or operate or be construed as a waiver thereof. Any single or partial exercise of any such rights shall not preclude other or further exercise thereof or the exercise of any other right. No waiver of any breach of these Terms of Use shall be held to be a waiver of any other or subsequent breach.
Force Majeure. We shall not be liable for any breach of these Terms of Use or any failure to provide or delay in provision of any services through this Website resulting from any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control including, without limitation, any Acts of God, strikes, lock outs and other industrial disputes, breakdown of systems or network access, fire, flood, explosion or accident.
Severability. If any of these Terms of Use are or become or are declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, such terms shall be severed from these Terms of Use and shall not affect the validity, legality or enforceability of the remainder of these Terms of Use.
